Cardano Supply Overview

Explore the complete Cardano ADA supply distribution for epoch 601, which began on 2025-12-15 and is still ongoing.

This interactive insight helps you understand how the total ADA supply is allocated across key categories — from circulating supply and reserves to staking rewards and the treasury.

At the close of each 5-day epoch, the Ouroboros protocol performs supply and reward calculations across all participating nodes. The resulting transfers distribute staking rewards and allocate a portion to the Cardano treasury, supporting ongoing development and ecosystem growth.

Epoch 601 facts:

Q: How did the values change compared to the previous Epoch?

A: At the start of epoch 601, the Cardano Ouroboros protocol distributed the staking rewards for epoch 599 and transaction fees collected in epoch 600. This transferred 10,903,337 ada from the reserves to the active supply, equivalent to a 0.16% decrease in reserves and a 0.03% increase in active supply.

Q: How much ada was added to the treasury?

A: A total of 3,998,031 ada  — 36.67% of the overal staking rewards — was allocated to the treasury, marking a 0.24% increase compared to the previous epoch.

Q: How many fees were collected and distributed?

A: In the currently running epoch, 82,839 ada in transaction fees have been paid so far. 65,523 ada from epoch 600 was distributed as rewards and treasury extension.  These fees came from 196,418 transactions, averaging 0.36 ada per transaction, and accounted for 0.60% of the total rewards distributed

Q: Were there withdrawals from the treasury in epoch 601?

A: There were no treasury withdrawals during this epoch.

Q: Where can I learn more about the Cardano Mainnet reward calculation?

The reward calculation is based on the ledger specification. Further information can be found in the Cardano Blueprint documentation. There is an independent Java implementation with many explanations, as well as a training course from Cardano Academy on calculating staking rewards.
